About me

Hi I'm Baharak, you may know me as Amara Spring!

A painter, photographer, and writer navigating the spaces where emotion, memory, and social reflection collide. My art lives in the tension between the seen and the unseen, the personal and the universal. Every canvas, photograph, and written piece is an invitation to explore the layers of what’s obvious and what’s hidden beneath.

My paintings are rooted in abstract expressionism, blending real-life elements with visions that surface from somewhere deeper—places I can’t always name. Some pieces carry messages that are crystal clear to me, while others evolve long after the paint dries, revealing meanings I didn’t expect. I’m drawn to themes of femininity, identity, and the emotional landscapes we navigate as individuals and as part of something larger. I often work with acrylics and am exploring oil paints, leaning into the process with curiosity—sometimes layering over old ideas, letting the evolution of a piece mirror my own.

Through photography, I capture fleeting moments that feel cinematic, like scenes from a film you can’t quite place but can’t forget either. My photos play with light, shadow, and mood, creating stories without words, yet speaking volumes.

And then, there’s my writing—the quiet thread weaving through everything I create. It’s where I let thoughts flow freely, exploring the inner dialogues that often shape my visual work. Writing grounds me, giving voice to the emotions that sometimes escape the canvas or lens.

Art, for me, isn’t just about aesthetics or technique—it’s about connection. It’s about translating the intangible into something others can feel, relate to, or even question. Whether you’re standing in front of one of my paintings, scrolling through my photographs, or reading my words, I hope you find something that resonates, something that lingers.
